On 10 and 11 October 2026, Nafplio and Tolo become the centre of Greek open-water swimming and triathlon. The Municipality of Nafplio, together with the whynot organising team, hosts whynot Legacy Nafplio 2026, welcoming hundreds of athletes from all over Greece along with their families and friends.
At Park Hotel Nafplio we are delighted to welcome athletes and visitors to our town for an event that brings together sport, history and the hospitality of the Argolida region.
Two days, three sports
Race registration opens on Friday 9 October at the Fougaro Art Center. On Saturday 10 October the action moves to Psili Ammos beach in Tolo for the 1,500 m and 3,000 m open-water swims (part of the WSL – whynot Swimming League) and the 300 m children’s race.
On Sunday 11 October the celebration peaks in historic Nafplio, with Palamidi, Akronafplia and the seafront as the backdrop:
- Standard Triathlon – 1,500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint Triathlon – 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Adults Aquathlon – 750 m swim, 5 km run
- Junior Aquathlon – 150 m swim, 1 km run
The triathlon races count towards the WTL – whynot Triathlon League.
